This is a commissioned piece of Mr. James Lowe, and is so titled. "Mr. James Lowe" is done in oil paints on stretched linen of 18" x 24". The portrait was done from one of the last photos taken of Mr. Lowe by his loving and devoted wife, Lyn. The provided photo is shown so that the viewer may compare.
"Mr. Rosenlieb" was a two fold study. One as a art piece for Art therapy for PTSD. But also as study of revitalizing Black and white photos to color. This is a portrait of the father of another one of my friends. this piece was in thought of the "Greatest Generation" that ever lived. Without them and their sacrafices we may not have the freedoms that we so enjoy today.
"Alone" is a self portrait of myself as part of Art Therapy for PTSD. For years I struggled and dealt with my PTSD in the wrong ways. Mainly to avoid the stigma of diagnosis that plaques this issue to this day. This self portrait portrays that for me. I have since excepted my PTSD and have sought help with it through the proper physicians and programs.
"Unega Waya" is a portrait of another friend of mine with a passion for our American heritage. I thought that his persona spoke volumes of the trials and cost of the freedom that our great nation enjoys. His war prizes relate the cost of our freedom. But as a man, he quickly tells the story of our American history.
